Reiki Energy Healing

What Is Reiki Energy Healing?

Reiki is a gentle, non-invasive energy-based practice designed to support relaxation, emotional balance, and overall well-being. During a Reiki session, light touch or hands-off techniques are used to encourage a state of deep rest — allowing the nervous system to shift out of stress and into calm.

While Reiki is not a medical treatment, many people describe feeling more grounded, peaceful, and emotionally clear after a session. Reiki is often used as a complement to traditional healthcare, supporting the body during periods of stress, illness, or life transition.

As a registered nurse, my approach to Reiki is rooted in safety, presence, and respect for each individual’s experience.

Reiki With Clinical Awareness

My Reiki practice is shaped by years of healthcare experience and a deep respect for how stress and healing affect the body and mind. Sessions are held with intention, safety, and compassion, honoring each person’s unique needs.

Reiki is offered as supportive, non-medical care. My clinical background allows me to hold this work thoughtfully — recognizing when gentle support is helpful and when it’s important to encourage care within the medical system.

Reiki sessions offered through Amber & Yarrow are complementary wellness services intended for relaxation and personal well-being. They are not medical, psychological, or diagnostic services and are not a substitute for professional healthcare.

Is Reiki Right For You?

  • Each Reiki session is a quiet, restorative experience. You’ll remain fully clothed and comfortable, either lying down or seated. Sessions may be conducted in person or remotely, depending on availability.
  • Clients often report a deep sense of relaxation or calm; a gentle warmth, heaviness, or lightness in the body; emotional release or mental clarity; feeling rested, centered, or more balanced afterward.
  • Every experience is unique. There is no “right” way to feel during Reiki – simply an invitation to rest.
  • Reiki is a good fit if you’re looking for gentle, non-invasive support; deep rest and nervous system calming; a quiet space to reconnect with yourself; complementary care alongside medical treatment.
  • Reiki is not a substitute for medical or psychological treatment; diagnosis or medical advice.

How Reiki Can Support Your Well-Being

  • Reiki is commonly used to support stress and burnout recovery; emotional overwhelm or anxiety; sleep or rest difficulties; nervous system regulation; a sense of grounding during health challenges or transitions.

  • From a physiological perspective, deep relaxation is associated with activation of the parasympathetic nervous system, which supports rest, digestion, and recovery.

  • Reiki sessions are designed to create the conditions for this restorative state — allowing the body and mind to settle.

  • Reiki does not diagnose, treat, or cure medical conditions, but it can be a supportive addition to your existing self-care or healthcare routine.

Reiki In Healthcare Settings

Reiki and other energy-based practices are increasingly offered in hospital and integrative health settings as supportive care. Institutions such as Cleveland Clinic, Johns Hopkins, and Kaiser Permanente have explored or incorporated Reiki within integrative medicine programs focused on stress reduction and patient comfort.

On this site, I also share educational resources and research that explore how practices like Reiki may support relaxation and nervous system regulation — helping bridge understanding between holistic care and modern healthcare.
